And yes, AMG versions are most certainly in the pipeline, but Mercedes-Benz has yet to announce them.

While outsides have flowing lines that goes with the automaker's new lineup of vehicles, the two-door E-Class still maintains the split rear passenger window. The new generation will be longer than the outgoing one, with a completely new platform underneath. There's also a mid-range E300 petrol engine and range-topping all-wheel drive E400 4Matic.

Mercedes-Benz will offically unveil the the 2018 E-Class coupe next month at the Detroit Auto Show, with sales beginning in the the summer.

In many various guises, from four-cylinder diesel to V8 tyre shredder to off-road estate, the new E-Class has proved a very impressive luxury vehicle.

Moving away from the dashboard, the E-Class coupe gets fine leather upholstery as well as leather elements all around the cabin.

The 2018 E-class coupe features an aggressive front end, including a long sculpted hood, while the rear is similar to that of the S-class and C-class coupes. The screens and gadgets are all there, including the optional "Widescreen Cockpit" effect featuring two 31.2cm high-resolution displays under a single lens, as well as the Touch Control finger-swiping function on the steering wheel and full smart-phone infotainment integration, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto options available. The more interesting addition, however, would be the Drive Pilot advanced semi-autonomous driving system.

The new E-Class coupe is larger than its predecessor; length has increased by 123mm which means legroom has improved by 74mm. This marks the thirteenth and final launch from Mercedes-Benz for this year. This will definitely be something to look forward to when the E-Class coupe finally lands on roads. This engine delivers max power of 367 PS at 5500-6000 rpm and peak torque of 520 Nm at 2000-4000 rpm. It's going to be 47 hp and 23 lb-ft of torque stronger than the GT S Coupe and it will likely run to 100 kilometres per hour (62 miles per hour) from a standstill in around 3.7 seconds taking into account the S does it in 3.8 seconds. Both the E400 and 400 4Matic Coupes are paired with a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission.

Nobody questioned future looks, as we are far familiar with nature of moves that Mercedes is pulling recently.
