'Disappointed' Cardinals president Michael Bidwill comments on Michael Floyd release

Cardinals release Michael Floyd after DUI arrest

"There were a lot of factors, but it was a hard decision for sure", Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill told NFL.com, adding there was a consensus among himself, coach Bruce Arians and general manager Steve Keim to release Floyd.

The Cardinals receiver was then charged with two counts of DUI, one count of obstructing a roadway and one count of failure to obey a police officer.

After suffering a 26-23 defeat in Miami on Sunday afternoon that likely ended the Cardinals' playoff hopes, Floyd was reportedly arrested with a DUI charge in the early hours of the morning on Monday in Scottsdale.

At this point, it is not clear what the legal ramifications will be of Floyd's arrest, although it could lead to a suspension by the NFL. He played five seasons for the Cardinals, who selected him in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Titans of new industry spring $1 billion clean energy fund
Japan's SoftBank Group Corp.is the most prominent foreign investor in India's solar energy sector. Bill Gates said the fund plans to make its first investments next year and run for 20 years.

Michael Floyd was three weeks away from FA and wasn't staying in Arizona. The Cardinals took a huge stance against drunk driving here by cutting Floyd (#NOT They are done and he is in the last year of his contract while having a bad year).

Floyd was third on the team with 33 receptions and 446 receiving yards this season in what was to be the final year of his contract. With the second-worst record in the National Football League, they might have the chance to claim Floyd on waivers. I don't think they can bring him back and this news should just cement that decision.

Claiming Floyd now also gives the Eagles the chance to negotiate with him exclusively before free agency begins.
