Two people killed in Louisiana mobile home hit by possible tornado

The Storm Prediction Center has a moderate risk (a category 4 on a scale of 1 to 5-with five being the most significant category) for eastern Texas and western Louisiana.

Today's forecast for the Crossroads area includes another strong risk of thunderstorms and possible tornadoes.

- A line of storms sweeping across North Carolina on Friday morning brought thunder and lightning to many towns from Fayetteville to Roxboro, but it also came with the chance of more severe weather.

Severe thunderstorms will continue tracking east Sunday night into parts of the Deep South and along the northern Gulf Coast, including Louisiana, southern Arkansas and Mississippi. There is a possibility of storms moving across the same areas creating pockets of higher totals through Monday.

A Flash Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flash flooding. The tornado watch has been cancelled early for areas west of Interstate 95.

The remains of a trailer where a woman and her 3-year-old daughter were killed Sunday after a suspected tornado in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. The chance is pretty low and depends on other factors coming together, like warmer temperatures and breaks for sunshine. There will be some spin in the atmosphere, and an isolated tornado can not be ruled out.

Severe storms may be ongoing in the morning in the lower Mississippi Valley.

Widespread street flooding with some areas getting anywhere from three to six inches of rain in a short period of time is possible overnight. I will have an update tomorrow morning.
