Bayern 'surprised' by Hoffenheim - Ancelotti

Bayern Munich had their 20-match unbeaten run in all competitions ended at Hoffenheim yesterday morning (Singapore time) as Andrej Kramaric's victor sealed the hosts' shock 1-0 victory.

Bayern Munich were dominated by Hoffenheim in the opening 45 minutes.

Julian Nagelsmann's men staged a faultless performance against the German giants and dictated the pace in the first half.

Despite a plethora of attacking options on his bench, Bayern coach Ancelotti kept faith with the starting XI at the start of the second half.

The Bundesliga leaders threw everything forward in the closing stages of the second half, but the host managed to hold on for an impressive three points. We only conceded one or two chances, which is in itself an incredible achievement against Bayern.

Dortmund gained momentum in the closing period and rounded off the game with a third goal when Aubameyang utilized Kagawa's through ball to round Hamburg goalie Rene Adler for the 25th goal of the season.

Gonzalo Castro fired the home side ahead with a free kick, before Hamburg regrouped.

Dortmund wrapped up the victory with two goals in the last 10 minutes.

Dortmund still hung around, though, finishing 3rd in '01 and winning their third league title in '02, jumping Leverkusen on the penultimate matchday and edging third-place Bayern by just 2 points in an epic title race.

Werder Bremen made it six wins from seven games as they beat Schalke 3-0. The first half was unnecessary. Ex-Dortmund midfielder Milos Jojic scored Cologne's victor in their 1-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt which moved his side up to fifth.
