Spicer expected to address ousted national security adviser Flynn at news briefing

Michael Flynn's tenure in the White House was cut short by revelations that he had misled Vice-President Pence about the nature of his conversations with the Russian ambassador.

He is a subject in investigations by intelligence committees in the House and Senate, as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, into allegations that Russian Federation meddled in the 2016 USA election. "It was inappropriate. And there are repercussions for the violation of law", the Republican representative added. Now, he is the subject of multiple investigations.

"The reality is I just don't think there are any documents because Gen. Flynn was required to proactively ask permission prior to engaging with Russian Federation and Turkey", Chaffetz said, according to NBC News.

But Chaffetz and Cummings said he appeared not to have disclosed those funds on his application.

As a retired military officer, Flynn is prohibited under the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution from accepting payment from a foreign government without advance permission from both the secretary of State and the secretary of the Army. Yates is scheduled to appear at a congressional hearing next month on Russian interference in the 2016 USA presidential election, a Senate committee announced Tuesday, April 25, 2017. At issue in any further inquiry is whether the Russian and Turkish entities that paid Flynn were clearly government-supported or controlled.

US intelligence agencies said in January that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered hacking of the Democratic National Committee and the chairman of Hillary Clinton's Democratic campaign to influence the election on behalf of Trump, a Republican.

Among the payments in question was more than $33,000 that Flynn received in 2015 from the Russia Today television network, which has been described by USA intelligence officials as a propaganda front for Russia's government.

Trump raps Iran as violating 'spirit' of nuclear deal
Shortly after taking office, Trump put Iran "on notice" and slapped new sanctions on the country for its ballistic missile program.

"As has previously been reported, General Flynn briefed the Defense Intelligence Agency, a component agency of the DoD, extensively regarding the RT speaking event trip both before and after the trip, and he answered any questions that were posed by the DIA concerning the trip during those briefings". They're largely technical; the Committee asked for some documents that the White House would not have.

Cummings said the committee had asked the White House, in which Flynn served as President Donald Trump's national security adviser for less than a month, for more information about his financial disclosures.

The committee has sent additional requests for information about Flynn to the White House, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

In a response letter dated April 19, and released by Cummings Tuesday, Priebus turned down the congressional request, noting that some of the documents requested were prior to Flynn's White House tenure and those that came after he entered the administration were likely classified. And given what we now know, Congress isn't doing enough to get answers to questions surrounding the Russian Federation scandal.

"The White House has refused to provide this committee with a single piece of paper", Cummings said.

"That would be a question for him", Spicer said.

Kelner said in March that Flynn is willing to testify in a USA counter-intelligence investigation into Russia's alleged interference in the election to help Trump, in exchange for immunity.
