"Appeal, in Kulbhushan Jadhav case, filed by High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale with Pakistan Foreign Secretary in Islamabad on Wednesday", the Indian High Commission in Islamabad tweeted.

Pakistan Army has already rejected any chance of granting consular access to Jadhav who was sentenced to death for espionage and subversive activities. Indian Envoy Gautam Bambawle who met Pakistani's Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua in Islamabad also sought consular access for Jadhav who was awarded the death sentence by a military court.

Sources say India also asked for certified copies of the court proceedings, summary of evidence, medical reports, a lawyer to defend Jadhav and visas for his family to visit Pakistan.

The Indian high commissioner repeated India's demand for consular access to Jadhav.

A military court in Pakistan, ignoring all worldwide norms and conventions announced the death penalty for Jadhav on 10 April, claiming that he was involved in espionage in Karachi and Balochistan. Jadhav was sentenced to death by a military court following a secret trial and the sentence was confirmed by the Pakistan Army chief on April 10.

First, he submitted a petition by Jadhav's mother addressed to the Pakistan government. The statement revealed that the parents had applied for visas to the High Commission of Pakistan in Delhi. Bambawale repeated India's demand for consular access during the meeting.
