Google Search will now help you find nearby events

With new search options rolling out to Google's mobile site and dedicated Google app for Android and iOS, users in the United States can pinpoint upcoming local events.

The search giant will tap into information contained on sites like Eventbrite and Meet-up to deliver detailed snippets about events in search results.

You can search for things such as "jazz concerts", "art events", and you'll get a special list filled with at-a-glance details about the upcoming events. But what is interesting here is the fact that the space of public events is hugely dominated by Facebook - where 100 million people use the feature daily and 650 million users use it across Facebook.

If you are an event organizer, you may also want to take advantage of this development. If you like something, click on the item to open more info or to quickly buy tickets. For example, searching for any art events happening next week should show what's going on during those dates.

'Hear about an awesome event but can't remember where to buy the tickets, ' Nishant Ranka, product manager, shared in the announcement. Google wants to help. We can also check for the events occurring in next week too.

Blixt-Smith team grabs win on 4th playoff hole
Blixt tried to respond for Smith to the question of where the win would take the Golf Australia rookie squad member. The two teams could not be separated before Sweden's Blixt and Australian Smith birdied the fourth play-off hole.

A Google representative tells us that folks can expect the feature to roll out within the next day or so, and that the company has no further plans for bringing the feature outside the USA at this time.

And then a list of options will appear, which includes the event's title, date, time and location.

While Google is certainly giving these local events more exposure, the ultimate goal is to keep mobile users on Google, instead of other apps. Google does not yet have plans for an worldwide expansion.

Previous year the firm launched a feature that uses real time data to you how busy a bar is. Just another great addition to Google search! Also, they can book the tickets for the concert directly from it.
