All you need to do is leave a non-perishable food item in or by your mailbox or you can deliver it to your local post office on Saturday, May 13.

Residents are encouraged to donate items such as canned soup or vegetables, peanut butter, pasta, rice or cereal.

"Last year we raised almost 1 million pounds of food during the single day drive", Oregon Food Bank marketing Director Amber Lindsey said. The goal is to collect more than 100,000 pounds of food. Letter carriers will pick up the items then donate them to local food pantries, Castillo said.

Residents in Tillamook County have donated nearly 200,000 pounds of food and personal items during these food drives.

It's estimated 1 in 6 Idahoans might not know when they'll get their next meal, the Foodbank news release said.

US President Trump to receive Russian FM Lavrov in White House
The stigma of the Russian Federation investigations has been impossible for Mr Trump to shake. The would-be safe zones would not cover areas where the US -led coalition is fighting IS.

"All of the food that is collected goes to support both the local food pantry and also the seven satellite cities in Union County food pantries", said Salvation Army Lt. Charles Smith. "We just love a part of being able to be there and pick up the cans and see the love that is shown by each and every person giving those items out".

Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny Dupree presented a proclamation Friday, dedicating May 13, 2017 as "National Association of Letter Carriers' National Food Drive Day". This is the 25th year of the Food Drive and the carriers of the Centralia office have participated all 25 years. "The food bank will sort through it and make sure it's safe to eat", said Nancy Renkes with the River Bend Foodbank.

According to National Association of Letter Carriers, Stamp Out Hunger is the largest, single-day food drive in the United States. The crew at Ridgefield's post office is hoping to improve upon last year's results - which were a little disappointing. Food banks and pantries often received the majority of their donations during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons.

All food will be kept and used locally. "Your donation on Saturday could help your neighbor up the road".
