John Oliver Compares Trump to a Little Child

That's the message John Oliver had for viewers on the latest episode of Last Week Tonight, which addressed the firing of FBI Director James Comey and Trump's freakish threat following Comey's dismissal.

The New Zealand Prime Minister said he hadn't seen the footage last week, but 'for the sake of his audience, I hope it's amusing'. Almost a week into the fallout from Comey's firing, Oliver is just as exhausted as you are and he no longer remembers what normal weeks are like. Trump posted last week, after sharing his version of his conversations with Comey in an NBC interview with Lester Holt. "What are you doing?"

After reading out Trump's letter - "while I greatly appreciate your informing me on three separate occasions I am not under investigation" - Oliver commented on how suspicious the President seemed attempting to put words into Comey's mouth.

Oliver focused first on one aspect of the "genuinely weird" termination letter Trump sent Comey ("and not just because it featured Trump's signature, which looks like a heart-rate monitor of a hamster on meth", the host said).

Sanchez, Giroud send Arsenal up to fifth
In his latest column, Charlie Nicholas fears Arsenal will blow their top-four chances with a slip-up at Stoke. Let's keep the focus on the way we want to play, on our team spirit.

"Bill English must know the moment he mentioned my name I was going to immediately find the stupidest, most humiliating things about him that I could", Oliver said. "Two, does he really think we as a country are this stupid, and three, are we as a country this stupid?" Oliver also noted Rosenstein - in light of Sessions' supposed recusal from anything having to do with Russian Federation - could "appoint a special counsel within the Justice Department", or what is most often referred to as a "special prosecutor." Sen.

"The founding fathers created a system of checks and balances to limit the power of the president".

Oliver then went after Congress, hitting the legislative branch - now entirely in Republican hands - for failing to stand up to Trump. It's on you. Because when you've got the presidential equivalent of a five year old shitting on the salad bar of a Ruby Tuesday, at some point you stop blaming the five year old and you start blaming the people who are not stopping him.
