"From all of the Isle of Man TT community, we send our best wishes to Nicky Hayden and his family at this hard time", says the Official Isle of Man TT YouTube channel, which uploaded the video on Friday.

The American rider, who now races in the World Suberbike Series, was cycling along the Rimini coastline when he collided with a auto and suffered serious head and chest injuries and has reportedly been place in an induced coma at the Bufalini hospital in Cesena.

"Nicky Hayden's clinical condition remains extremely critical", said a statement from the Maurizio Bufalini Hospital in Cesena.

The former MotoGP champion sustained brain damage when hit by a auto when cycling in Italy and has remained in intensive care since the crash.

The hospital confirmed on Thursday that Hayden suffered "a serious polytrauma with subsequent serious cerebral damage".

Honda said he was taken initially by ambulance to a hospital near the coastal resort of Rimini, before then being transferred to Cesena.
