Apple unveils watchOS 4 with a ton of new features

During today's WWDC in San Jose, Apple announced WatchOS 4, a major system update for its smartwatch that will add support for Siri and a revamped user interface to bring users information more efficiently.

Chief among the new features are a trove of new watch faces, with the most intriguing one being the intelligent Siri one.

The first thing narrows down to a new watch face - the Siri watchOS. It will give proper information for the time of day - like Breathe reminders, weather and commute information for calendar events and instant app access. Apple has also teamed up with Disney once again to bring watch faces of Woody, Jesse and Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story franchise to the Apple Watch. Apple has a new UI for the workout app as well with smarter coaching. With WatchOS 4, Apple Watch will communicate and exchange data with gym equipment. Apple watch enabled gym equipments will be rolling out soon.

Apple only touched on a new multiple workouts feature, but it's worth mentioning: with watchOS 4, you can complete different exercises in the same recorded workout. And if you're the sort who can't start a run without some music, you can pick a playlist that automatically starts alongside your routine.

The long awaited Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2017 (WWDC 2017) has officially begun. Fitness maniacs will now be able to track HIIT (High-intensity interval training) as they please.

Apple improved the fitness capabilities of the watchOS.

Who will win the British general election?
If the poll is accurate and the swing were uniform across the country, the Tories would be 17 seats short of an overall majority. YouGov's election model was based on voting intention figures which gave May a lead of just 3 percentage points, YouGov said.

watchOS 4 will hit all eligible wearables later this fall. The app also tries to guess what you want to hear, so you'll see music and playlists that you listen to automatically updated on your watch.

Kevin Lynch, technology veep, talked about Siri, Apple's personal assistant software, becoming more proactive and more aware of watchOS activity through machine learning.

watchOS 4 will be available this fall as a free update to Apple Watch paired with iPhone® 5s and later on iOS 11. You can rotate the Digital Crown to scroll vertically through the various notifications and apps on the face.

This works specifically with gym equipment.

The Music app on Apple Watch has been redesigned. Native core bluetooth support, for example, is coming to Apple Watch. Activity, one of the most frequently used apps, will add challenges and inspiration to get to goals.
