Trump sons defend his criticism of London mayor

President Donald Trump's two adult sons are defending their father's controversial Twitter attack against London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

No date has been set for the visit, which was agreed during May's visit to Washington in January and seen as a sign of her desire to maintain good ties with Britain's traditional close ally as Trump began his presidency. Police shot dead all three attackers. The first jab occurred when Trump twisted Khan's words and accused him of telling Londoners that there was "no reason to be alarmed" by terrorism.

But Donald Trump Jr. argued Khan had also engaged the president - potentially a reference to Khan's past criticism of Trump's proposed U.S.travel ban on people from six Muslim majority countries.

"Having said that, I think Donald Trump is wrong in what he said about Sadiq Khan, in relation to the attack on London Bridge". MSM is working hard to sell it!'

"The point is, there is a reason to be alarmed. We have constant attacks going on, not just there, but across the globe". "I commend the strong leadership of the @MayorofLondon as he leads the city forward after this heinous attack", he said in an official tweet.

The politician's feud with each other arguably stems back to a year and a half ago when Mr Trump announced he would ban all Muslims from entering the US.

Trump slammed Khan multiple times on Twitter in the last several days.

Khan's statement on Sunday morning condemned the attack and gave a number of details about what had happened and what measures were being taken in response. No reason to be alarmed. "It's even more important that we work together with our allies and our friends and our partners".

On being asked whether Trump's impending visit to the United Kingdom should be called off, Khan replied, "I don't think we should roll out the red carpet to the President of the U.S. in the circumstances where his policies go against everything we stand for".

His comments were backed by his colleague Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour Party leader, as well as the Liberal Democrat leader, Tim Farron.

"You should be alarmed", Eric Trump told ABC News. "And I think on many, many things, Donald Trump is wrong", he said. "If he does a good job and frankly if he does a great job, that would be a terrific thing". The Trump Organization is launching a new mid-market hotel chain called "American Idea".

May's government, however, on Tuesday dismissed Khan's call for the visit to be canceled.

President Donald Trump's sons Eric Trump, left, and Donald Trump Jr., executive vice presidents of The Trump Organization, chat with guests during an event Monday, June 5, 2017, in NY.

The 46-year-old mayor, who assumed office in May 2016 after serving in Parliament, generally praised the "special relationship" between the United States and Britain.
