Indeed, investigators found the decomposing body of a child wrapped in blankets in a storage bin in the garage of the abandoned home. Police in IL found the body, but no charges have been filed in the girls death.

Authorities suspect the child was killed in nearby Belleville in 2013, and police there have taken over the investigation.

Jason Quate made the comment Thursday during an interview with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/2rQDrBt ).

A woman who alleged shocking abuse at the hands of her 34-year-old husband, including being forced into prostitution, went to police with information about remains in an IL garage. "She also gave us some very disturbing details that she wasn't allowed to communicate with the children, she was forced to stay in a bedroom, the children could not speak with her and also the children were never allowed to leave the house", Las Vegas Police Department Lt. Raymond Spencer told KMOV. Before they left, she found a garage in Centreville, where the body was dumped, he said. Quate said he spanked her, unaware she had Salisbury steak in her mouth, and she choked to death.

Quate told KSNV-TV in Las Vegas that his wife's involvement in prostitution was her idea, and that he believed that his wife had put the 6-year-old up for adoption.

Quate's bail was set at $5,000 cash on the new charge.

The woman told police that she and Quate met in IL but later moved to Las Vegas.

The child-abuse allegations stem from the condition in which Las Vegas investigators found his other two daughters living.

But Kelly said such back-channel communications don't bother him and would not be harmful to US security interests. He added that it is "very possible that those sources don't exist but are made up by fake news writers".

Officers found the remains Tuesday morning after a woman in Las Vegas contacted police and told officers her husband had killed their then-6-year-old daughter in IL years earlier and hid the body in the garage of a home in Centreville, near St. Louis.

But Quate hasn't had a single run-in with Las Vegas police, Henderson police or North Las Vegas police.

A man under investigation after his wife told police he killed their 6-year-old daughter and hid the body in an IL garage is directing suspicion at his wife.

Police found that body early Tuesday morning.

Police believe the child was killed about four years ago, when she was 6.

He remained in custody Thursday morning in Las Vegas. Police are seeking sex trafficking and child abuse charges.

Quate said his wife was "not a good mother" and never told her daughters she loved them.
