Fake TIME magazine covers displayed at Donald Trump's golf club locations

President Donald Trump has garnered a reputation for being somewhat misleading on the facts of his accomplishments-whether it be the size of his inauguration crowd or his Electoral College accomplishment.

Time Magazine has asked Trump to remove fake Time covers that feature Trump on the cover from the walls of his golf clubs. "Even when he was just a reality-TV star, Trump was the kind of star who got a cover story in Time".

But Time never published an issue on March 1, 2009, and a closer look at the magazine's famous red border reveals the cover, which hangs in golf clubs as far flung as Scotland, is a fake.

Former President Richard Nixon had appeared on the cover 55 times.

The Trump-related cover lines read nearly like advertisements for his reality-show empire: "Donald Trump: The "Apprentice" is a television smash!" they say.

Trump interviewed Robert Mueller for Federal Bureau of Investigation director
Gingrich also said Trump had phoned him Monday night, and left him with the impression that Mueller's job isn't on the line. Reports are circulating that Trump's inner circle is unanimous in trying to persuade the president not to fire Mueller.

"I can confirm that this is not a real Time cover", Kerri Chyka, a spokeswoman for Time Inc. told the Post, stating the obvious. Since becoming president, Trump has visited the club on multiple occasions, including this past weekend. White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders declined to say whether Trump had known the cover wasn't real.

Early on Tuesday morning, Donald Trump fired off two tweets that served as his latest salvo against so-called "fake news", taking care to mention and tag major, "failing" institutions like the New York Times and the Washington Post.

Still, the covers do make for some consistency across Trump's properties; they fit right in with the photos of himself from various news sources reportedly covering his office at Trump Tower.

Meanwhile two of the same secondary headlines were featured on an actual cover featuring Kate Winslet's image, from March 2, 2009. It turns out that it's the not for a magazine but for video karaoke software, allowing you, too, to pretend you're something your not, should you so desire.
