The Campus and Champaign-Urbana community has been rocked by the disappearance of Yingying Zhang, a visiting scholar who was picked up in a auto on June 9th and has not been heard from since.

University police said Zhang got off a public bus moments before the 4-door hatchback pulled up in front of her on the north end of campus.

University of Illinois Police in a recent update also said they were treating Zhang's disappearance as a missing persons case while the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been investigating it as a kidnapping.

Surveillance video on June 9 showed her getting into the vehicle.
