Nintendo made the announcement at Nintendo Direct event that it would release its novel Nintendo Switch Online app on July 21st and this also happens to be the day when Splatoon 2 comes to stores.

Launching alongside Splatoon 2, the multiplayer application Nintendo Switch Online will control everything you need to do in your multiplayer games in the palm of your hand.

Today, Nintendo held their latest Nintendo Direct presentation, focused entirely on Splatoon 2. The app supports in-game voice chat and allows players to create private lobbies to play with friends. You'll need to download the free demo of the game in advance, but you'll be able to play on the 15th July 2017, nearly a week before it's out on the full launch on the 21st.

With the advent of Nintendo Switch Online, there's a good chance that other games such as Rocket League won't have built-in voice chat capabilities, forcing audio through a smartphone.

SplatNet 2 is a mobile phone feature that connects players to the game while they're on the go. You can join in by downloading the title's free demo in the eShop. New features unique to the game sequel are set to be highlighted at the livestream event as well.

Mainly it has been formed with the online experience of suitable games on the Nintendo Switch in mind.

Hopefully more games make use of Nintendo's attempts at an online network. 3 and Dr. Mario from the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Nintendo hasn't yet revealed the features of its paid online service. As mentioned before, SplatNet 2 is part of the Nintendo Switch Online app. Hopefully Nintendo will be able to work out any bugs quickly so it can offer additional services to gamers soon. Players will vote for which preference - or which character - they like more and then divide into teams with others who chose the same.
