J&K: Amid Burhan Wani's death anniversary, Pakistan violates ceasefire, 2 civilians killed

A statement issued by Pakistan's Inter-Services Public Relations, the PR wing of the Pakistan military, on Saturday said Indian troops had resorted to unprovoked firing in Chirikot and Satwal sector.

"The firing which started from 6.30 a.m., is ongoing and our forces are effectively retaliating", said Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta. "The couple's two children were also injured when a shell fired from across the border hit their house on the LoC in Gulpur area".

Two people, including a girl, were killed and three citizens were injured, the statement added.

They were referred to District Hospital Poonch, where they are undergoing treatment.

"Very heavy shelling is going on in areas like Khadi, Karmara andGuplur", he said.

Ministers expected to announce Khadr's $10.5M payout
However, McVety pointed out that there is a chance Khadr will not receive the money. He later recanted and his lawyers said he had been grossly mistreated.

India countered Pakistan's allegations that India violated the ceasefire along the LoC in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Sources said militants fired from AK-47 rifles towards the army patrol.

The firing allegedly resulted in killing two civilians, including a woman.

The latest incident happened as escalation along the LoC has been seen since a militant attack on an army center in the Indian-controlled Kashmir killed 19 soldiers on September 18 previous year.
