[D] octors and the judiciary have said that, not only is there no hope, but rather than release Charlie to the care of his parents, they have also omnisciently made a decision to literally hold him hostage - insisting not only that Charlie must die but that he also must be in their "care" when he does.

"If this can happen across the pond, it can happen here".

The courts ruled against Charlie Gard's parents, saying that the trip to the United States would cause him, "significant harm".

On Friday, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, where Charlie is being cared for, said it wanted the court to hear new evidence relating to the case, "in light of fresh evidence concerning potential treatment".

Charlie's parents' lawyers argue that the proposed experimental treatment wouldn't hurt Charlie and that there's at least a 10 percent chance it would bring about significant improvements for him.

The case of 11-month-old Charlie Gard has garnered worldwide attention and even drawn comment from President Donald Trump and Pope Francis.

Great Ormond Street says Charlie's eyelids can not stay open and his eyes point in different directions because of muscular weakness.

"We believe, in common with Charlie's parents, it is right to explore this evidence", it said. "Ultimately, the human family is held together by this core commitment - or it rapidly disintegrates into survival of the fittest". "[It's] not the government's role to decide that a life should end", he said during an appearance on FOX Business.

Well-wishers are adding cash to a fund launched to cover the cost of foreign treatment for terminally-ill baby Charlie Gard as his parents prepare for another legal battle with doctors at the UK's most famous children's hospital.

Yates told the judge: "He is our son".

"Our bill will support Charlie's parents' right to choose what is best for their son, by making Charlie a lawful permanent resident in the U.S.in order for him to receive treatments that could save his life", a press release from Wenstrup detailed.

I am Charlie. We all are Charlie. "He could be my child, or your child, or any one of us", said Foster. "They have kept fighting for his life".

But Pope Francis and 350,000 people who signed a petition supported the parents. However, he said he would consider any new evidence given in 48 hours and would examine the couple's arguments "calmly and fairly".

Charlie, who suffers from a rare mitochondrial disease caused by a genetic defect, is now on life support at London's Great Ormond Street children's hospital.

In the United States, Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, also launched a prayer campaign for Charlie. We just want to be able to give him a chance and let's leave no stone unturned, said Charlie's mother Connie Yates.

Iran Blasts US Top Court Ruling on Trump Travel Ban
Lawyers are scrambling to determine exactly what the court means by a bona fide relationship or, for that matter, an "entity". For individuals, a close family relationship is required: A spouse or a mother-in-law would be permitted.
