Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled its new performance saloon the £93710 XJR575 with a top speed of 186mph

Hot on the heels of the compact new E-PACE SUV, Jaguar has just released details on what promises to be its beefiest and most powerful super saloon yet - the XJR575.

To distinguish the XJR575 from lesser trims, Jaguar equipped the model with unique badging, twin hood louvers, and red brake calipers paired with special 20-inch gloss-black wheels.

Forward Traffic Detection works in a similar manner as rear cross traffic alert, but at the front of the vehicle: it will alert you when oncoming traffic is coming in situations where visibility is limited, such as a blind junction or exiting a parking space.

The driver assistance features introduced for this auto are those familiar from lots of other installations now and include blind spot monitoring, autonomous emergency braking, reverse traffic detection and "Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist", the latter presumably making traffic rather less stressful.

The Jaguar XJR575 starts at £93,710 in the United Kingdom, and USA pricing will be announced at a later date.

The XJR575 gets a 25-horsepower increase to its supercharged 5.0-litre engine's power rating, meaning 575 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a 0-100 kilometre per hour time of 4.4 seconds and top speed of 300 km/h.

Around 30 people have been released while 30 others remain missing, Kandahar police spokesman Zia Durrani told AFP. The insurgents have a heavy presence in Uruzgan, a poppy-growing area.

JAGUAR'S big-selling XJ luxury sports saloon has been given a boost in power, technical improvements and further safety kit plus a new flagship model, the XJR575.

"This is a performance vehicle, but that doesn't mean we have had to cut any corners when it comes to comfort or design", said Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar.

First previewed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in camouflaged form, the 2018 Jaguar XJR575 moves the needle in a number of ways.

Jaguar has updated its premium XJ saloon for 2018 with a new infotainment system and more driver assistance technology. But the advanced driver-assist systems available include automatic emergency braking and park, blind-spot and lane-keep assist.

Its exterior has been tuned and tweaked including the rear spoiler, side sills, front bumper and lower air intakes which feature Gloss Black surrounds.

Jaguar says it will make further announcements on the 2018 XJ lineup, including USA pricing information, later this year.
