Luis Fonsi wants Venezuelan President to quit using Despacito

Muslim-majority Malaysia has stopped playing the sexually charged song "Despacito" on public broadcast stations, a senior minister said Thursday after critics labelled it un-Islamic.

Critics say Maduro is trying to cement a dictatorship by pushing forward with the Constituent Assembly this Sunday.

At a rally last Sunday, Maduro introduced a version of the song with new lyrics encouraging the audience to vote in the country's upcoming election to form a "constitutional assembly", which would be in charge of rewriting the country's 18-year-old constitution.

On Monday, Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, both of whom are Puerto Rican, spoke out against Maduro's use of their hit song on social media.

DJ Khaled's "I'm The One (featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance The Rapper & Lil Wayne)" holds at #3 with ~15,413 spins (-64), while Halsey's "Now Or Never" keeps #4 on the strength of its ~15,216 plays (+405).

Suresh - were suspended for five sittings of the house after they tore and threw papers in the house as well as at the chair. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar, however, said what happened was a "black day" for parliamentary democracy.

His co-singer on the hit, Luis Fonsi, issued a statement saying that "at no time was I consulted, nor did I authorise, the use or changes of the lyrics of Despacito for political ends". Maduro used the viral song to appeal to voters.

It is now the third most viewed YouTube video with 2.7 billion views, behind See You Again by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth and Psy's Gangnam Style.

"That you illegally appropriate a song [Despacito] doesn't compare with the crime you commit and have committed in Venezuela". "You dictatorial regime is a mockery, not only for my Venezuelan brothers, but also for the whole world".

Venezuela has been shaken by often violent protests in recent months, and millions joined a general strike last week.

Maduro is pressing forward with his pledge to hold a July 30 election to select delegates to a special assembly that will be tasked with rewriting the troubled nation's constitution despite worldwide outcry and a protest movement that has left at least 97 dead.
