Mega Millions and Powerball jack pots combine for huge high

At least one person in IL is waking Saturday up a Mega Millions jackpot victor.

The triumphant ticket was purchased in Palos Heights, Illinois, as indicated by lottery authorities. The victor will get $247 million in cash once the person shows up and contacts them to claim the prize money. It's fifth largest in Mega Millions history. It will also let you know when you win with those physical tickets you bought. Tonight's Powerball prize is worth $356 million.

The jackpot resets to $15 million, with a $9 million cash payout option, for the next drawing on Tuesday.

Even though Mega Millions' jackpot is bigger, the odds are slightly better, and the $1 tickets are half the price of playing Powerball, many people were betting on both ahead of Friday's drawing.

In Kenya : Calls for peace on eve of tense election

That's a cash value of $224 million if you take the lump sum.

The jackpot has been growing for four months, having last been won on April 8 in California.

I don't typically play Powerball, but whenever the jackpots get super high I (like everyone else on the planet) head to the store to grab a ticket or two. He won $61 million. For Powerball, the figure stands at one in about 292.2 million.
