Mary Grams had given on up finding her ring until it turned up on a carrot

When she lost her engagement ring back in 2004, she thought that it would be the end of it and bought another, smaller ring.

Mary Grams, 84, holds the carrot encircled by her long-lost engagement ring.

The 82-year-old lost the ring while gardening in the western town of Bad Muenstereifel.

"I asked my husband if he recognised the ring and he said, "yeah".

Afraid to tell her husband, Gram quickly replaced the ring after losing it.

Perhaps the best thing about the discovery - other than it still fits Grams and she fully intends to start wearing it again - is that she never did tell her husband, Norman, who passed away five years ago, that she'd lost it.

In September of 2004, Mary Grams, an 84-year-old woman from Alberta, Canada, lost her engagement ring while doing some yard work near the potato patch on her property. Back at the time she lost the ring, Mrs Grams said she had a general idea of where it went missing, but was unable to find it after several weeks of searching even enlisting the help of her son.

Incredibly, the ring resurfaced in her vegetable garden in August 2017.

And Swansea were just as keen to close the deal to give them time to find replacements before the transfer window closes. And the Iceland worldwide was subsequently not included in their Premier League opener against Southampton on Sunday.

Grams's daughter-in-law was gathering vegetables in the same garden when she came across this little guy.

"We looked high and low on our hands and knees", she told CBC News. "I thought for sure either they rototilled it or something happened to it".

FOR a lucky Canadian woman, this is no garden-variety 1-carrot diamond ring.

However Daley would never have expected the ring to turn up on a carrot.

At the time Grams lived on a farm near Armena, Canada.

Ms Daley admitted she had nearly fed the strange-looking carrot to her dog before noticing the ring while washing the vegetables.

"I've never seen anything like that", she told CBC.
