Democratic Lawmaker Posts, Deletes 'I Hope Trump is Assassinated!'

Chappelle-Nadal backed off her initial Facebook post Thursday.

A report from CNN News indicates that the Secret Service is investigating posts by the Missouri lawmaker today. "And she should resign". Despite deleting the comment and the apology, Chappelle-Nadal, a Democrat, is already the subject of an intense social media backlash. "I believe she should resign". As a senior Senator, she should know that the people of Missouri expect better, and it is my hope that she will heed the call to resign rather than force her fellow lawmakers to make this decision for her.

That sentiment was echoed by Stephen Webber, chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party. "It's outrageous. And she should resign".

"I made sure it was clear to them that the anger I experienced was related to the trauma my constituents are going through", said Chappelle-Nadal, whose district includes Ferguson, a landfill linked to nuclear contamination and low-performing school districts. Maria Chappelle-Nadal have led to calls for the senator's resignation and a Secret Service investigation.

She swiftly deleted the comment, but screen captures of it quickly circulated, and soon, others in government condemned it and called for her resignation.

In response to the events in Charlottesville, Trump condemned the white supremacists, but insisted repeatedly that "both sides" shared blame in the violence that led up to the vehicle ramming. The Democrat later deleted that message and told St. Louis Public Radio that she shouldn't have written it. "Absolutely", she told The Associated Press. She has said she has no intention of resigning over the comment. Other state Democratic leaders calling for Chappelle-Nadal to step down include House Democratic Caucus Chair Gina Walsh and State Representative Josh Peters.

Chappelle-Nadal's controversial comment comes amid a week of division and chaos in the United States following a weekend of unrest in Charlottesville, Virginia surrounding a white supremacist rally. "I will. I hope Trump is assassinated!" in response to a comment on Facebook.

If there are two things radical liberals like Chappelle-Nadal are good at, it's dividing people and repeating the same outlandish fabrications of the truth until the sheeple believe them. "No one is going to speak for African-Americans like I do". "People are traumatized!" Chappelle-Nadal tweeted.

Chappelle-Nadal was a prominent voice during the protests in Ferguson, Missouri, after the August 2014 fatal police shooting of Michael Brown.
