COMMENTARY: Safety first in watching Monday's solar eclipse

On Monday 21 August, Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina, US, shared a photo of new mum Freedom Eubanks holding her newborn baby.

Eclipse weighed six pounds and three ounces when she was delivered and will officially go by the name Eclipse Alizabeth Eubanks, but her parents have some ideas for nicknames already.

"I kind of felt like it was meant to happen, to have her on this day", Eubanks said when asked about giving birth on eclipse day.

A baby was born Monday in SC was named after the Great American Eclipse. Paul and Freedom initially chose the name Violet for her, according to WSOC.
