A Democrat senator hoped out loud for Trump's assassination and may pay the price

The Democratic state senator in Missouri is now facing the ire of her own party members as well as the common public for an ill-advised post on her social media page about wishing that the President were assassinated. I am calling on the Missouri Senate to go into special session in conjunction with Veto Session, with the objective of expelling Senator Chappelle-Nadal from the body under the authority vested to the Senate under Article III, Section 18 of the Missouri Constitution. "I Will. I hope Trump is assassinated!" in response to a comment from another person who posted about his cousin being on the President's secret service detail and his fear that he will probably receive a visit from the secret service. In a speech laced with religious symbolism and references to being a "child of God", Chappelle-Nadal avoided making any mention of the actual content of the Facebook post that sparked the recent controversy. Mainly, his talk of "both sides being to blame" brought in a lot of criticism.

Chappelle-Nadal said she would not resign, but did apologize for the post.

Once again, on Friday she admitted that her Facebook post "was totally improper", but said she will not resign.

"We saw violence a week and a half ago in Charlottesville in which someone actually died because of violent speech and violent behavior on the part of the neo-Nazis who support Donald Trump", she noted.

Maria Chappelle-Nadal has to go. It continues, "I do not make this request of you lightly, but you and I know it is the right course of action to take for the people of Missouri".

Sen. Cory Booker To Submit Bill To Remove Confederate Statues from Capitol
There are also statues of the founding fathers such as Thomas Jefferson and George Washington , who were slave owners. Essentially, governance over which statues reside in our nation's Capitol rests with individual state leadership.

Plenty of Missouri Democrats have expressed outrage at Trump's reaction.

"About 30 seconds after she made the comment, I issued a request for her resignation". "But I am not going to shy away from what caused that anger at all, I'm not going to shy away from that". Where's the majority of the party "when she says that she wants someone to kill the president of the United States?"

Though governors typically call special sessions, the Legislature can call itself in with a three-fourths vote of members in each chamber, according to the state constitution. She also apologized to Missouri residents and her Statehouse colleagues. Claire McCaskill and state party Chairman Stephen Webber called on the University City Democrat to resign, but she has so far resisted.

Missouri Governor Eric Greitens is calling for the removal of a state senator who wished for the assassination of President Trump. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, an African-American Democrat. "It's outrageous and she should resign".
