Odell Beckham Jr. Reportedly In Jeopardy For Season Opener

Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. Leaves Game Against Browns After Taking Scary Hit to Ankle

According to ESPN's Dan Graziano and Jordan Raanan, Giants superstar Odell Beckham Jr.'s availability is in jeopardy for the September 10th matchup at AT&T Stadium to kick off the 2017 season for both teams.

The Giants might be without their top receiver for their regular-season opener.

"[If a deal isn't done] by the regular season, he'll take steps to protect himself", a source told Robinson. Two-time All-Pro center Ryan Kalli also practiced Monday after sitting out two games with a shoulder injury and could play. McAdoo wouldn't divulge whether Beckham has a high ankle sprain, which is a more serious injury, as opposed to a low ankle sprain.

According to the report, a one-year insurance policy worth $100 million would cost Beckham roughly $600,000.

Coach Ben McAdoo would only say on Tuesday that they'd see "how [Beckham] responds to treatment". Beckham took a big hit to the leg in Monday's second preseason game.

Income statistics released this week showed average real wages declining for private sector workers for the fifth year in a row. The crisis kicked off in July when a minor Greens party senator stood down after revealing he had New Zealand citizenship.

But McAdoo would not rule out their participation in either of the two remaining exhibition games. If it's a low or lateral ankle sprain you'd expect Beckham to get back into the mix pretty quickly, but a high ankle sprain would keep him out for longer.

After last night's injury scare, you have to think Beckham is heavily leaning toward purchasing the insurance.

Added Collins: "The play wasn't a penalty, but it's something everyone knows. you don't do". Beckham and the team said it was just a sprained ankle and everyone played it off. The game-sealing play was similar to the one Boddy-Calhoun delivered in the preseason opener, when he made a tackle for loss on fourth-and-goal.

"Just because we're professional athletes doesn't mean we're exempt from the things that go on in society", Boldin said, noting his position as an athlete couldn't save his cousin from being shot.

The New York Giants apparently can breathe a little easier.
