President Trump makes first visit to Missouri since election

Trump's most recent mention of Missouri was a tweet on Sunday that touted his upcoming visit but also took a shot at that state's Democratic Sen. He is not expected to give a detailed speech on specifics, but rather rally momentum for a post Labor Day tax reform effort focused on simplifying the tax code and lowering rates.

President Donald Trump hit the road to sell tax reform to voters and lawmakers Wednesday, a major campaign pledge that remains short on detail and a long way from becoming law. The president framed the USA tax code problem in terms of competitiveness.

"For tax reform to be permanent it must be bipartisan, and to be serious it must abandon the exhausted myth that tax cuts pay for themselves", said Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), the minority whip.

Trump also took a few stabs at the hard argument that cutting corporate rates would lead to job creation and benefits for people other than just the very rich. "Everyone thought that was a monumental thing that happened".

"Under this pro-America system, our economy boomed", Trump continued.

Brock Osweiler has 'no regrets' giving Cleveland his all
It appears like the Browns learned what most already knew around the league, Brock Osweiler isn't really a very good quarterback. He completed 19 of 31 passes for 258 yards and one touchdown, and he added a touchdown on the ground.

While the President has been clear about tax cuts that benefit high-income households and large corporations, he's revealed far less about how his plan would affect middle-income Americans.

President Donald Trump will kick off his lobbying effort for a tax overhaul at an event in Missouri, with a manufacturing backdrop and some economic tough talk. While some believe that timeline is aggressive under any circumstance, Republicans also have numerous other challenges lying in their path.

The Trump administration's stated goal is to adopt tax reform by the end of the year, but that's a tall task both technically and politically.

"I think Congress is going to make a comeback, I hope so", Trump continued, to cheers from the audience.

By expressing optimism Congress would pass a tax bill, Trump alluded to the Senate's inability to pass legislation to repeal and replace President Obama's health care law. "Congress should accept that challenge and craft a bipartisan plan that makes real reductions in what government demands from our wallets". "Stand up, honey", Trump said as the audience cheered. And your senator, Claire McCaskill, she must do this for you.
