It will be recalled that on September, 24, 2015, there was a stampede which caused over 760 death of pilgrims on their way to Jamarat for the symbolic stoning of the devil as well as the accident at the Kaaba same year.

It was the scene of the 2015 stampede that claimed the lives of almost 2,300 pilgrims, the worst disaster in the history of the hajj. The Saudi move on June 5 was taken along with the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt to protest against what they say is Qatar's support of groups and individuals linked to extremism and terrorism.
