By trading Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics, the Cavaliers received a prolific scorer in Isaiah Thomas, a defensive expert in Jae Crowder, a true center in Ante Zizic, and the Brooklyn Nets' 2018 first-round pick, which is considered their most valuable acquisition.

Thomas, 28, averaged a career-best 28.9 points per game last season, his sixth in the National Basketball Association.

The deal took a long time to officially finalize, but through it all Thomas didn't say much.

His oldest son, James, seemed pretty excited about his father getting traded to Cleveland.

A 5-foot-8 point guard who was the final pick in the 2011 draft, Thomas was a role player for three teams before he came to Boston at the 2015 trade deadline.

What still stings, Thomas writes, is that after a "good luck" text from Boston sports legend and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Thomas won't be able to leave a lasting legacy on the city of Boston like he planned.

The 2017-18 National Basketball Association season will be vital for the Cavaliers since it may affect James' decision next summer.

Six Flags 2018 theme park ride line-up revealed
The massive new water attraction is a zero-gravity slide complex that packs two extreme slide thrills into one attraction. The ride will be located in the Mardi Gras section of the park, where King Chaos was removed on August 27.

Thomas recalled saying, "I just got back home; I'm straight". "I know he's reached out today, as well", Thomas said. This is going to be a great year to be a Cavs fan, a great year.

"Me on the Cavs is a match made in heaven".

Now in Cleveland, he won't be looked at as "The Man" anymore, but as the sidekick to one of the best players in the world, the main reason why the player he replaced, Kyrie Irving, was so adamant to leave. Best of luck. You're gonna do great.

He didn't hold back in his message, and made sure to get one point across - that he doesn't hold a grudge: "I wasn't wronged".

Thomas, who works with Sam Goldfeder and Jeff Schwartz, will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the upcoming season. I don't know, it's hard to explain.

"It was one of the most hard conversations I ever had", Ainge told CSN's Kyle Draper and Brian Scalabrine following last week's introductory press conference for Irving and Gordon Hayward.
