Nancy Pelosi confronted by DACA recipients protesting her agreement with Trump

Morality Is Negotiable for Mr. Trump

Trump's decision on DACA, while causing some Republicans to squirm, was the right call and will hopefully bring certainty codified in USA law to people who deserve a sturdier legal status than Barack Obama's constitutionally flimsy executive order. As the Chronicle reported, in speaking to reporters, she commented that she understands where the activists are coming from, and that she "understands their fear".

The lawsuit joins others filed over President Donald Trump's decision to end DACA, which has allowed almost 800,000 immigrants to obtain work permits and deportation protection since 2012. It was imposed by executive action in 2012 under President Barack Obama and rescinded by the Trump administration on September 5, but a six-month window was provided to give Congress time to address the issue.

An organizer with one of the groups that staged the protest told Politico that 'Democrats are representing themselves as the resistance when the reality is they haven't done anything'.

Pelosi was met with an arousing thunder of applause when she was introduced on the campus of Sac State.

"The only consistent theme seems to be he's pro-Trump", the California congressman said of the president. North Carolina Republican Rep. Mark Meadows, who leads the House Freedom Caucus, said that "if we try to get the political rhetoric out of it and actually look for real solutions", a deal is "entirely possible".

President Trump also took to Twitter to dispute the triumphant Democrats, insisting border security must be part of any agreement and that, without a wall, it's not happening.

"I think all of us recognize that outreach for what it is, and that's purely transactional, purely something that will come up from time to time when the president decides it's in his personal interest to work with Democrats", Schiff said.

Trump will need all the support he can get, because establishment Republican leaders are already pushing back.

Trump later told reporters that "We're not looking at citizenship" for Dreamers, and on Twitter he insisted that "CHAIN MIGRATION can not be allowed to be part of any legislation on Immigration!"

"I know some people think this hurts the cause of undocumented folks, but undocumented people will always be scapegoated", Luis Serrano, one of the group's organizers, told the San Francisco Chronicle.

This escalation, she argued, has created "an entitlement mentality for a whole new generation of people who are in this country".

The leader of California's state Senate, Democrat Kevin de Leon, suggested the comments made Feinstein complicit in what he called Trump's "reckless behavior".

"Well, maybe Nancy Pelosi now realizes that a lot of these people don't respect borders".

"Right now, I want him to like the Dreamers", she said. Campos said her parents brought her to the United States from Mexico before her first birthday. "We're not gonna do the dreamers unless we do comprehensive immigration reform, '" Pelosi said. "It's all or none". But after Pelosi spoke, about 40 protesters walked up to the front of the room and started shouting, taking over an event where Lee, Huffman and other activists had yet to speak.

"Dreamers are counting on us to do the right thing and stand by our values", Matsui said.
