Rossi returns as Pedrosa sets Aragon pace

There was more headline news as an injured Valentino Rossi added another chapter to his incredible comeback, qualifying on the front row in third after missing only one event following his accident.

Pedrosa completed a flawless day for Honda as he stormed through second half of the race after a slow start to blow past Rossi, Vinales and Lorenzo in the latter stages. However, for Jorge Lorenzo, it still was his best outing on the Ducati yet.

Miller held on to third, 0.658s slower than Marquez but fractionally up on Yamaha poleman Maverick Vinales in fourth place.

Rossi will be desperate to qualify well and put pressure on championship leaders Marc Marquez and Andrea Dovizioso.

The Honda rider, who went on to take second, said Rossi's defence was "not fair".

Kilju is home to the Punggyeri nuclear site, where North Korea's sixth and largest nuclear test was conducted on September 3. They were responding Friday to reports that North Korea's foreign minister had said his country might conduct such a test.

Italian Franco Morbidelli won the Moto2 race and Spaniard Joan Mir was first in Moto3.

Movistar-Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi has been licking blood after his sensational qualifying of Aragon. "Unfortunately I did too many laps behind Maverick and I lose a little bit of the gap at the beginning", said Pedrosa.

With the top five spots dominated by Honda, Ducati and Yamaha, Aprilia's Aleix Espargaro finished sixth ahead of Aspar Ducati's Alvaro Bautista.

"Achieving a start from the first row yesterday was already great, I was very happy". Di Giananntonio led going into the final lap, but Mir struck as he, Di Giannantonio and Bastianini pulled a gap of a couple of tenths with some spectacular slipstreaming down the back straight. The wounded nine-time champion battled for the lead early in the race but understandably faded to finish back in fifth.

Coming in second on Sunday was Ducati's Spanish racer Dani Pedrosa, 0.879 seconds slower than the victor.
