NBC's Sunday night National Football League ratings dip from last year's week 3

It's hard to take seriously any claim that people boycotting the NFL because of protests are responsible for the decline in NFL ratings - and for everyone who says they won't watch the NFL because players kneel during the anthem, there are others who say they won't watch the NFL because Colin Kaepernick remains unsigned - after what we saw in Week 3.

NBC said 11.6 percent of households tuned into the game, down from 12.9 percent who viewed the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys in last season's week three.

The biggest factor in the weekly increase was the Monday Night Football game between the Cowboys and Cardinals.

"Overall, according to the NFL, Week 3 ratings were slightly higher than Week 3 in 2016", CNN reported.

NBC's "Sunday Night Football" was down 11 percent from 2016.

During 'Monday Night Football, ' a lot of people were glued to the TV, but it wasn't just the game keeping their attention tonight. This week's game also posted lower initial ratings than weeks one and two, NBC said.

However, a source close to the Raees actress denies it and says she got the mark after a cyst surgery earlier this year. Every woman has the right to make her own choices in life (as long as she is not hurting anyone) just as we men do.

CBS' pregame show, "The NFL Today", was up 33% compared to previous year, and scored its best overnight rating since 2010.

The NFL also ran a commercial on Sunday night, which was tweeted out by Goodell himself. Both networks tackled the political news of the weekend. Forbes notes that the rise of internet streaming likely accounts for the NFL's declining cable ratings, compounded more recently by the spate of hurricanes that have hit the south and east coasts.

NFL teams staged a show of solidarity with protesting players before Sunday's games by kneeling, linking arms or staying off the field during the national anthem, defying President Donald Trump's call for team owners to fire those who refuse to stand. In a tweet sent right before Sunday's games, the president said "NFL attendance and ratings are way down".

Trump even went so far as to try to persuade National Football League fans to 'refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country'.

Trump's comments on Friday night shined a spotlight on the league and the protests, leading the networks to change up their planned broadcasts of games and the anthems preceding them.

In a gesture initiated last season by then-San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, several National Football League players have routinely "taken one knee" during the playing of the anthem.
