The bureau on November 1, issued the poster saying it is seeking the public's help with information about the 32-year-old.

This is the deadliest terror attack on New York City since September 11, 2001. US President Donald Trump has proposed sending him to Guantanano.

Kadirov is not considered a suspect and it is unclear what connection he may have, authorities said. Kadirov is being questioned by authorities now; investigators became suspicious of him because Kadirov "went off the radar" when they went to talk to him following Tuesday's attack.

The person in touch with Kadirov's family says the two men knew each other only from their days as fellow drivers for the ride-sharing app Uber and were not close friends.

The criminal complaint against Saipov said he began planning the attack a year ago and made a decision to use a truck about two months ago.

Like Sayfullo Saipov, the suspected perpetrator of the attack, Mr Kadirov is a national of Uzbekistan. The officials, who asked not to be identified because the investigation is ongoing, did not provide further details.

The discovery came after Saipov, a 29-year-old Uzbek, was hit with federal terrorism charges for allegedly plowing a truck down a lower Manhattan bike path Tuesday afternoon.
