Pentagon: Ground Invasion the Only Way to Destroy North Korea Nukes

South Korea's presidential Blue House on Sunday asked people to warmly welcome U.S. President Donald Trump who will make a state visit to the country next week.

The president has mocked his counterpart, calling him "rocket man" during his maiden UN speech and threatening the nation with "fire and fury".

The world will be watching what kind of language Trump will use in his comments on North Korea. The White House later described the notion that the USA had declared war "absurd". "If the USA misjudges (North Korea's) toughest will and dares to act recklessly, the latter will be compelled to deal a resolute and merciless punishment upon the former with the mobilization of all forces".

While US officials have repeatedly make clear that their goal with respect to North Korea is denuclearization, Pentagon officials are increasingly willing to admit that they view the "only way" to accomplish that as not just a war, but a full-scale US ground invasion of North Korea.

South Korea now pays more than 900 billion won ($800 million) annually and negotiations with the United States are to start in the coming months to try to determine a new amount for South Korea to contribute.

But as the president prepares to meet South Korean President Moon Jae-in, a report by a South Korean spy agency Thursday said there was "active movement" surrounding a missile research facility in Pyongyang. South Korea's foreign minister made similar remarks during a parliament committee meeting earlier last week.

Experts believe that if war were to resume on the Korean Peninsula, the city would see tens of thousands of people killed in the first hours.

Nadal seals fourth year-end No.1 ranking
As stated in the Twitter account of the Masters 1000 of Paris, it is the fourth time that the Spanish achieves such a performance. In the race to join Nadal and Zverev at the ATP Finals in London, there were valuable victories for Lucas Pouille and John Isner.

There are about 18,000 civil defense shelters across South Korea.

Robert Park was tortured after crossing into North Korea on Christmas Day 2009.

In defiance of global sanctions imposed to compel Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear weapons and missile development programs, North Korea test-launched ballistic missiles on August 29 and September 15 that flew over Hokkaido before falling into the Pacific Ocean. But he declined to answer a Japanese reporter's question about whether he is prepared to go to war with North Korea.

Critics say the South Korean moves, dubbed by local media as its "Three No" policies, could undermine the operational capability of the allied South Korea-U.S. forces and Trump's push to bolter three-way cooperation with Seoul and Tokyo to put more pressure on Pyongyang.

It comes after a series of missile and nuclear tests in the past few months, a sharp escalation from recent years.

Without "distinguished leadership", North Korea would have "fallen a victim to the invasion by the barbarous US imperialists". It also wants nothing short of full normalization of relations with the USA and to be treated with respect and as an equal in the global arena.
