Vikings add Teddy Bridgewater to active roster; Sam Bradford to IR

Based on these recent reports regarding Bradford, Minnesota placing him on injured reserve in order to make room for Bridgewater this week seems pretty likely.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford underwent an arthroscopic procedure Tuesday in which Dr. James Andrews "cleaned up" his left knee but found no major damage, according to team sources.

Coach Mike Zimmer said he didn't expect Bradford's left knee injury, aggravated in Week 5, to take so long to heal but expressed confidence in his current quarterbacks. He was officially placed on injured reserve on Wednesday.

Bridgewater practiced with the team on October 18 for the first time since his injury.

Keenum has been a serviceable starter for the Vikings, throwing for 1,610 yards and seven touchdowns with three interceptions in seven appearances. He'll earn $18 million in 2017 from the Vikings with a $14 million base salary and a $4 million roster bonus.

Bridgewater hasn't played since the 2016 preseason, when he dislocated his knee and required surgery.

Vikings game kicks off at noon Sunday on FOX. The Vikings quarterback has come a long way since he suffered a dislocated knee and torn ACL on August 30, 2016.

A second second opinion portends an ominous situation for Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford. He did start 15 games for Minnesota last season, after the Vikings sent a first-round draft pick to Philadelphia to acquire him in the days after Bridgewater's injury.
