After Delay, Amazon Prime Video Added To Apple TV

Amazon Prime Video is now available on Apple TV

The latest gen Apple TV, dubbed Apple TV 4K, utilizes the A10X Fusion chip and offers 4K playback capabilities at up to 60 frames per second with support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision content. Users can now view 4K HDR titles from iTunes, and HDR support for other services like Amazon and Netflix is expected to be added in the coming months. Apple TV owners can find Amazon Video in the App Store, and download it for free.

Wednesday's truce, however, hasn't yet resulted in the Apple TV returning for sale on Amazon's site, which removed it in 2015.

'With these exciting updates, plus our growing collection of 4K HDR movies on iTunes, we continue to deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience to Apple customers'. It was still possible to play Prime Video content on an Apple TV, but it required that you stream through AirPlay from another Apple device. Prime Video also offers a wide array of award-winning kids content, including "Tumble Leaf", "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and "The Snowy Day".

Snowflakes? Maybe. Colder weather, rain? On the way
Early next week an arctic cold front blasts through, sending high temperatures even colder, possibly only staying in the teens. I'm still expecting sweater weather in the morning but it won't be almost as chilly as previous mornings.

Despite the competition between Apple and Amazon, it's easy to see why the two agreed for the Prime Video app to finally become available for the Apple TV.

Amazon, for example does not carry Google Home, Chromecast or Nest devices.

"We are so pleased to welcome Amazon to Apple TV", Cook said on stage in June.

Amazon said in a statement, per Reuters, that it hopes to resolves the dispute with Google, but added that the search giant was "setting a disappointing precedent by selectively blocking customer access to an open website".
