Another 6" of snow falling in parts of West Michigan Wednesday

Meteorologist Chris Strong at the weather service said the goal of the statement is "to emphasize that if conditions are right, very small amounts of snow can cause very big problems for commuting times, as we've seen in many instances over the past many years here in the D.C. metro area".

For Thursday in the Harrisburg area, expect gradually clearing skies, with a high near 32 and wind gusts as high as 21 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service, in a winter weather advisory issued early Wednesday evening, is calling for total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches of snow to fall in northwest New Jersey including Sussex and Warren counties. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31.

The snow will begin after 5 a.m. with wind chills between 15 and 20 and a low temperature around 23, the National Weather Service predicts. Wind: W/SW 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Another round of unsettled weather could bring an additional inch of snow late Friday afternoon before giving way to sunny skies and high temperatures around 32 degrees Saturday.

The heaviest snow has moved out of the area.

The heaviest snow accumulation will happen during the evening making travel very slow and hard. Lows Wednesday night are expected to be in the mid 20s.
