J&K One Army officer 2 jawans killed in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Keri

On Saturday afternoon, three Indian Army jawans were martyred in an unprovoked cross-border firing by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.

An army spokesperson identified the slain soldiers as Major Moharkar Prafulla Ambadas, Lance Naik Gurmail Singh, sepoys Pargat Singh and Gurmeet Singh, who belonged to 120 Infantry Brigade. The fourth soldier had not been named till evening. "They were evacuated to army hospital, where three including the officer succumbed to injuries", the spokesman said.

At least 61 security personnel including 58 army men and 79 civilians have been injured in the border ceasefire violations by the Pakistani troops. Major Moharkar Pra-fulla Ambadas, 32, belong-ed to district Bhandara of Maharashtra and is survived by his wife Avoli Moharkar. Two other personnel also sustained injuries and are under medical treatment. But given its actions and behaviour, it didn't appear that Pakistan really wanted peace, he added.

"The major and two soldiers were killed in the shelling, while another soldier was injured".

They said army men also returned the fire and targeted Pakistani army posts and bunkers with similar caliber weapons.

White House Pushes Back at Times Immigration Report: 'Outrageous'
He was then said to have read out a list of how many immigrants from different countries had received visas so far in 2017. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, denied on Saturday morning that Mr.

Sepoy Pargat Singh (30) belonged to Karnal district in Haryana and is survived by wife Ramanpreet Kaur and a son, the Army said.

The troops of India and Pakistan intermittently exchange fire on the 720 km-long LoC and 198 km IB in Kashmir, despite an agreement in 2003 to observe a cease-fire.

The violence was sparked by the killing of a popular young rebel leader by government forces in July a year ago.

"The incident took place in the Topa Barat Galla area of in Keri sector".

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy CM Nirmal Singh both paid rich tributes to the martyrs and conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to the families.
