Kentucky woman killed 'savagely' in dog attack identified

Just before 11 a.m. Sunday, Lorraine and her husband Johnny were attacked, Steele said, by two pit bulls.

Police say Lorraine Brock Saylor was killed by the dogs as she was putting out bird seed at her home in Arjay, Kentucky. Her husband, Johnny Saylor, rushed outside to help only to be attacked by the dogs as well, according to WKRN. The other dog ran off near Country Lane.

Investigators with the sheriff's office are warning residents no to engage with the risky animal if they come across it.

The Bell County Sheriff's Department said it received a call at 10:20 a.m. Highway 66 in the Wiser Branch area of Arjay about the dog attack.
