Google Will Set Up Brick & Mortar Stores In India by Q4 2018: Report

Now the company only sells the Pixel smartphones online and has a minor share in the smartphone market.

In addition to opening pop-up locations in Los Angeles and NY for the 2017 Made by Google lineup, the company opened a series of similar stores in India.

This retail expansion comes as more than a dozen pop-up stores opened in recent months throughout the country proved successful.

Along with Pixel phones, Google also plans to sell other products in the stores.

According to a report, certain people related to the matter have said that Google has plans to open physical stores in India which will have an "experience centre" format.

Giants trade for Evan Longoria
For the first 10 years of the team's existence, the Devil Rays went 645-972 (.399), never sniffing the playoffs. He was ranked the top prospect in the Giants system according to MLB Pipeline and made his debut last summer.

The tentative timeline for the physical Google stores is in the latter part of 2018. As per the report, Google has also appointed a senior Apple executive onboard to carry out the plans more efficiently. The stores could offer Google Home smart speakers, Chromecast devices, Pixel laptops, Daydream View VR headsets, and more.

Google was reportedly encouraged to open new locations after the massive interest that followed its pop-up Google Pixel 2 stores around the country, which included the High Street Phoenix shopping center in Mumbai and the Mall of India in Delhi-NCR.

Also, at least "two prominent malls" in India said Google contacted them regarding available space, with one executive saying that Google has "a flavor of how physical stores are also important because you can't explain numerous features online".

For those unaware, this is not the first time Google is setting up a physical store in India. Samsung's stores in India, for example, are owned and run by franchisees. It partnered with BK Modi promoted Spice Group to launch AndroidLand outlets that sold Android smartphones from leading OEMs such as Samsung, HTC, Lenovo, Sony, Xolo, Micromax, Karbonn, and of course, Spice.

It's unclear whether Google will open its own stores or outsource the operations to a third party.
