"The only manner in which the cast has discussed wrapping the show is that we're all going to be very sad when that day comes", he told USA TODAY. "I think at this point everyone is very comfortable with 12 seasons being a good time to go home and see our families".

And it appears that CBS is very happy with Young Sheldon, as it's just been renewed for Season 2.

Television's most-watched comedy, now in its 11th season, could likely close its doors at the end of season 12, star Johnny Galecki told reporters at CBS' Television Critics Association press tour on Saturday, where he was promoting Living Biblically, which he executive produces.

The show, which focuses on Jim Parsons' character Sheldon Cooper, stars Ian Armitage with Parsons as narrator.

Kane said it had been a "fantastic" year. "We have finished this year in a very good way and I hope next year we can win more".

The long-running Chuck Lorre comedy, which also stars Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik, has also spawned the successful spin-off Young Sheldon. "We can't wait to see Chuck, Steve, Jim and Todd's vision for how the Cooper family deals with Sheldon growing a year older...and smarter".

In addition to Parsons and Armitage, "Young Sheldon" stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Raegan Revord and Montana Jordan.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS. The series, which counts Big Bang Theory Emmy victor Jim Parsons as an exec producer (and narrator), is the No. 1 new comedy among total viewers (16.2 million) and the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demo (4.9) and is the No. 2 comedy on all of TV, behind only its flagship series.

"We never really figured to be at year 11, let alone what's going to happen after 12".
