If you ask me, there is no Obi-Wan anthology film without Ewan McGregor, his involvement is a must if the film is to succeed.

Over the weekend, an online photo (below) featuring McGregor working out with the aforementioned beard led to speculation that he might be getting ready to don Jedi robes once more, potentially in an Obi-Wan spinoff that, buzz has it, could be directed by Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours).

Ewan McGregor had quite the evening at last night's Golden Globes; the Scottish actor took home the award for Best Actor in a Miniseries for his work as brothers on Fargo's third season, marking his first win after two other previous nominations.

One post appeared on Reddit, simply titled: "Tony Horton just posted a picture to his Facebook of Ewan McGregor doing P90X with an Obi-Wan beard and haircut". This further points to a 2020 release date for the movie.

And sci-fi fans have went into meltdown amid rumours that McGregor is gearing up for a Star Wars return.

He added: "I saw the new one over Christmas".
