Florida athletics director Scott Stricklin left and College Football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott are among six new members of the College Football Playoff selection committee

The committee is made up of 12 members, plus executive director Bill Hancock, an OU graduate and Hobart native, who is not granted a vote in the selection process.

The six new members in question are Arizona State journalism professor Paola Boivin (who previously worked as a columnist at both the Arizona Republic and Los Angeles Daily News), Oklahoma AD Joe Castiglione, Georgia Tech AD Todd Stansbury, Florida AD Scott Stricklin, former USC All-American DB Ronnie Lott and the retired Ken Hatfield, who served as head coach at Rice, Clemson, Arkansas and Air Force.

The CFP committee consists of 13 members who operate on three-year terms. "We're delighted that they will be joining the committee". While the athletic directors are automatically recused from discussions regarding their schools, they're busy enough in their current college athletic roles as it is. Castiglione is Oklahoma's athletic director.

Lott played 14 professional seasons after his collegiate career at USC.

Bangladesh, Myanmar agree on 2-year Rohingya resettlement plan
Burma denies ethnic cleansing, saying its security forces had mounted legitimate counter-insurgency clearance operations. Communal tension between the Buddhist Rakhine population and Muslim Rohingya has risen sharply in recent years.

Boivin, an IL alumn, spent more than 20 years at The Arizona Republic before she took a job in the sports journalism program at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

We saw this evidenced by UCF's 13-0 season previous year that was capped off by the Knights defeating Auburn in the Peach Bowl.

Castiglione is familiar with that process, which mirrors the NCAA men's basketball committee policy. He will be the third chair of the CFP selection committee, succeeding Texas Tech director of athletics Kirby Hocutt.

There are five classifications of members: people with experience as coaches, student-athletes, administrators, journalists and sitting directors of athletics. Alabama has won two national titles under the new system, with Clemson and Ohio State each winning it all once.
