Kotb's staff reportedly got extracted revenge by making fun of Kelly's highly-publicized auto crash interview with Jane Fonda back in September of 2017.

Megyn Kelly of NBC, addressing Jane Fonda interview in September 2017 that addressed cosmetic surgery.

Fonda was visibly uninterested in discussing the topic, and replied after a moment of silence, "We really want to talk about that right now?"

The disagreement began when Fonda appeared with Robert Redford on Kelly's show in September to promote their film "Our Souls at Night".

Jane Fonda's representative didn't immediately respond to HuffPost's request for comment, and the star didn't post anything on social media in reference to Kelly's comments.

It was also joked about when Fonda and Lily Tomlin appeared last week on an earlier hour of "Today". After describing Fonda as being "fixated" on their previous interview, Kelly then showed a montage of clips of Fonda speaking about her plastic surgeries on other talk shows.

Kelly then went on to try to give context about the fact that Fonda was on the show to promote a film about aging, had openly discussed her plastic surgery plenty of times in plenty of places in the past, and had something of an obligation to be upfront about it if she wanted to be a cultural face to older women as she has claimed.

"It's time to address the "poor me" routine", she went on to say. The truth is, most women look nothing like Fonda, who is now 80. "That's ok. But I have no regrets about that question". Many of our veterans still call her "Hanoi Jane", thanks to her radio broadcast which attempted to shame American troops.

Major League Baseball star Roy Halladay died from blunt force trauma, drowning
The 40-year-old Halladay died on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017 , when his plane crashed off the coast of Tampa, Fla. The official cause of Halladay's death was blunt force trauma, with drowning a contributing factor.

Kelly added: "By the way she still says she's not proud of America. But, I'm proud of the resistance", Fonda answered Stephen Sackur at the time.

"So, the moral indignation is a little much", Kelly concluded on her segment. Look at her treatment of our military during the Vietnam war. For years she has spoke about the joy of giving a cultural face to older women.

Jane Fonda is Hollywood royalty for her family name, for her own films, and of course for her far left politics.

And in a new interview with Variety this week, she put it simply: "It wasn't like I was upset". It was Kelly's third day of her new show after years as host of her popular Kelly File on Fox News.

But Kelly on Monday not only defended her interview with Fonda, but questioned the actress' patriotism. She called our POW's hypocrites and liars and referred to their torture as understandable.

Megyn Kelly Today airs weekdays at 9 a.m. on NBC.

Fonda courted controversy during a 1972 visit to North Vietnam, where she met with and posed for pictures with the Viet Cong at an anti-aircraft gun site.
