Earlier in the day, news reports emerged that an alleged Khalistani terorrist Jaspal Atwal, accused of shooting at a Punjab minister in the 1980s, had been invited to two official events organized for Trudeau in Mumbai and Delhi.

Atwal's entry into India has sparked a fresh controversy and hurt "diplomatic sensitivity" with his presence at the dinner in honour of visiting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

A man who was convicted of trying to assassinate an Indian cabinet minister in 1986 should not have been invited to receptions held in Delhi, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Thursday. An unwitting dinner invitation extended to Atwal, later rescinded by the Canadian side, caused another scandal on the eve of Trudeau's meeting with PM Modi.

Perhaps taking advantage of the Central Government's decision to remove his name from the blacklist, Atwal arrived in India and subsequently got the invitation to the envoy's dinner, the official said.

"And, it was my daughter, who had made it for my youngest son", the wife of Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said with a proud smile.

Trudeau has been spending a lot of time this week dispelling the idea being pushed by some Indian politicians that Canada is a haven for Sikh extremism.

Ronan Farrow Breaks Story About Trump's Affair With Playboy Playmate
Longtime trump lawyer Michael Cohen admitted earlier this week that he paid Daniels $130,000 just before Election Day in 2016. The company told the magazine it did not print it because it did not find McDougal's story to be credible.

"India is very sensitive about this issue because that country was partitioned in 1947 and 14 million people died".

The minister was hit twice but survived the attack.

Another said the government is now looking into how Atwal got into India. PM Modi especially mentioned about meeting Trudeau's children Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien. The PMO won't explain how Atwal could have been missed in the vetting and security checks of guests invited to private events with Trudeau, offering a blanket, "We don't talk about the PM's security".

On his part, Trudeau claimed that he supports "one united India" and his government has taken serious steps to tackle extremism. "We will have to see how this happened", he said adding they would also go into whether he got an e-visa or otherwise. During his Amritsar stay, Trudeau reportedly received a list of nine operatives in Canada from Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.

Atwal was once a member of the International Sikh Youth Federation, an extremist group aiming to establish an independent Khalistan that was banned in Canada as a terrorist group in 2003. Indian government officials have called on Ottawa to take a harder line on Sikh separatist elements at home, which they believe promote terrorism in India.

Modi's perceived cold-shouldering of Trudeau appears to have been prompted by the support the Canadian Prime Minister allegedly receives from the Khalistani movement.
