Strong To Severe Storms Tonight

Severe Weather Team 2 said to expect rain through Sunday evening from Atlanta northward.

At least the temperatures will be mild.

Beyond Sunday, Monday will be much nicer, with sunshine returning for the afternoon, along with temperatures approaching the 70 degree mark.

Thunderstorms are also possible going into the week with potential strong storms on Wednesday (Feb. 28).

Some fake accounts have been traced to Russian-backed agents that the US government says are working to sow political discord. The steps are part of Twitter's ongoing battle to reduce the amount of spam and bot activity now taking place on the site.

The National Weather Service is predicting up to one inch of total rainfall through Sunday, with steady rain expected most of the morning. As the cold front moves closer this evening there could be a round of strong to severe storms with heavy rain to finish off the system. With mostly cloudy skies high temperatures will reach into the mid 60s.

The main threats today will be wind and heavy rain.

Then Sunday afternoon we might get a break in the rain which will help to allow most of the early rains to drain off. Chance of rain is 90 percent.

A warm front will lift north through the state Tuesday night into Wednesday, followed by a cold front that will sweep through late Thursday.
