David De Gea Thibaut Courtois Linked with Real Madrid

There have been various claims of what United will offer De Gea in new contract negotiations.

According to Paul Hetherington of the Daily Star Sunday, the Red Devils are keen to tie the Spain worldwide down for the long term and end any lingering interest in his services from Real Madrid.

Manchester United are reportedly yet to initiate contract talks with superstar David De Gea, who has been linked again with Real Madrid.

David De Gea's current Manchester United contract runs till the summer of 2019 and while the club does have an option to extend the Spaniard's contract by a year, his performances warrant a improved deal, especially with the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba earning considerably more than the custodian.

If Mourinho can get De Gea's future secured, it would be a major boost for United.

De Gea and United are back in action on Saturday afternoon when the Red Devils host Liverpool in the Premier League's early kick-off. De Gea has won the Premier League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the UEFA Europa League during his time at Old Trafford.

According to Diario Gol, the Spanish shot-stopper spoke to Madrid president Florentino Perez about sealing a move in the summer transfer window.

I'm honestly surprised De Gea has stayed for as long as he has at Manchester United.

Madrid are renowned for forking out massive sums of money to sign the world's best talent and though they will not succeed in signing all of their targets, it is likely that they will sign some, if not the majority of them.

However, according to Yahoo Sport, the 27-year-old and his agent Jorge Mendes have yet to receive an upgrade on his current deal at Old Trafford. "They are too slow", said a close friend of the goalkeeper.
