New video emerges of life inside Turpin family home

David and Louise Turpin appeared in court in Riverside California and denied 37 charges

A 17-year-old girl who managed to escape squalid conditions inside her family's Southern California home managed to post videos and photos online while still inside the residence.

In one, a huge pile of dirty clothes is seen in the corner of a room.

Authorities said a 22-year-old was found chained to a bed when they arrived and the home reeked of human waste.

The 17-year-old's most recent clip was posted just seven days before officials say she broke out of the home in January and called 911.

"Good Morning America" reported the girl also appeared to have had an Instagram account.

The videos, released by the United States show Good Morning America (GMA), show the teenager singing mostly original songs to the camera, and according to GMA the most recent video was released just one week before she escaped via a window and alerted authorities, who rescued her remaining siblings.

Authorities said the abuse was so long-running that the children's growth was stunted.

Prosecutors have alleged all the children except for the youngest, a toddler, were severely malnourished.

The new Olympic and Paralympic mascots will be seen in merchandise, stadiums and everything that has to do with the event. The mascots' names will be chosen based on feedback from creative professionals and will be announced in the summer.

Both parents are now being held on $12 million bail, respectively, and face up to life in prison if convicted on all charges.

Police commended the teen for her bravery after the escape, and said she could play a leadership role in helping her siblings recover.

One of the Turpin children had a secret YouTube channel.

David Turpin, 57, was also charged with one count of a lewd act on a child under the age of 14.

A California judge has barred David and Louise Turpin of contacting their children for three years and keeping 90 metres away, the BBC reports.

The couple have been accused of only allowing the children to shower once a year, shackling them to furniture, restricting their toilet use and repeatedly beating them.

The couple allegedly starved, choked, and beat their children.

Tricia Andreassen and Elizabeth Flores told Good Morning Britain they had visited Louise and David Turpin, who are in custody facing a raft of child abuse and torture charges.
