Russia's Lavrov says Moscow will expel British diplomats

Alexei Navalny said proposals outlined by the prime minister would only play into President Putin’s hands

"Of course we will", Lavrov told journalists when asked whether Moscow will respond in kind to the expulsion of Russian diplomats announced by British Prime Minister Theresa May.

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov speaks during a press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in Moscow, Russia, March 14, 2018.

Lavrov said Russia's response would come "very soon" but be conveyed to British officials first, an apparent contradiction of an earlier report by state news agency RIA that said Lavrov had promised to expel British diplomats.

Her comments followed a statement by British Prime Minister Theresa May on Wednesday during which May said London would kick out the Russian diplomats in the biggest such expulsion since the Cold War.

"Russia's record of conducting state-sponsored assassinations; and our assessment that Russian Federation views some defectors as legitimate targets for assassinations; the government has concluded that it is highly likely that Russian Federation was responsible for the act against Sergei and Yulia Skripal", she had said.

Super Smash Bros. Is Finally Coming To Nintendo Switch This Year
In the distance, we could see the outline of what appeared to be the Smash Bros Switch roster. Hopefully by E3 we'll get confirmation on whether this is simply a port or not.

In a rare joint statement, the leaders of Britain, France, Germany and the USA on Thursday condemned the attack on Skripal and his daughter Yulia as an "assault on United Kingdom sovereignty".

Skripal and his daughter were found slumped on a park bench on March 4, poisoned by a deadly nerve agent from a batch known as Novichok; they are in critical but stable condition.

Peskov on Thursday said Russian President Vladimir Putin would ultimately choose the option that "most suits Moscow's interests".

Earlier on Monday, British Prime Minister Theresa may said that the poisoning nerve substance ex-GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal "with high probability" involved in Russian Federation.
