Jim Carrey faces Twitter backlash for 'monstrous' portrait of White House spokesperson

A spokeswoman for Carrey confirms it is his painting.

Over the weekend, Jim Carrey tweeted a portrait he painted that looks an terrible lot like White House press secretary Sarah Sanders.

He captioned his artwork: 'This is the portrait of a so-called Christian whose only goal in life is to lie for the wicked.

This political painting seemingly of Huckabee Sanders isn't the first go-round Carrey has had with portraits mocking political figures.

Meanwhile, Twitter users (and probably bots) - particularly supporters of the Trump administration - did as they always do, cracking back on Carrey for his portrayal of Sanders and his criticism of Christians. "Monstrous!" he captioned the post.

Sean Smith will be released by Oakland Raiders
Smith got benched in his first game with the Raiders after getting burned by New Orleans' Brandin Cooks for a 98-yard touchdown. A person familiar with the move says Smith was told that he will be let go before the start of the new league year.

Today, a portrait of Sarah Huckabee Sanders attracted more attention that any of Carrey's previous works, though his anti-Facebook composite (I'll call it "Fakebook") was certainly a pointed statement.

Carrey frequently shares his politically minded art on Twitter, and has created works inspired by various White House scandals in the past, including Trump's hiring of accused wife-beater Rob Porter, and his decision to golf in the aftermath of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting. "Monstrous!" stated Carrey in the tweet with the painting, which by Monday had gotten almost 15,000 retweets and approximately 66,000 likes.

In November 2017, Carrey tweeted a picture he made of President Trump kissing the rear end of Russian President Vladimir Putin, using the hashtag #PuckerUpPOTUS. "Rubio's agenda is clear. Apparently $3.3 million is the price of this politician's soul".

He described Hawking as "greatest mental athlete of our time".
